Editor - Richard Puddle
Having started racing at 8 years old, Richard raced competitively in Karts for the best part of a decade, competing at club and national level. In 2005 the decision was taken to make the step up to car racing, along with heading to Loughborough University to study Motorsports. This preceded Richard joining The Race Drivers Academy at Silverstone, and scoring a pole position on his car racing debut.
During University Richard started Torque, along with his fellow students, as a means to help other budding racing drivers trying to begin racing careers. In charge of creating the website and designing the Torque editions, Richard also still races on occasion, and resides in Silverstone.
Chief Editor - Sebastian King
Seb was a succesful kart racer for may years in the 1990's before moving up to car racing and immedietly impressing in the BRDC Formula Ford series. After proving his speed in the Formula Fords the decision was made to enter British Formula 3, up against the best in the country. With a small budget, Seb still gave the grid something to think about, until a nasty shunt at Brands Hatch put paid to his season.
Having taken an extended sabbatical from racing, Seb started The Race Drivers Academy in 2000 with a range of University courses aimed at progressing young drivers knowledge of Motorsport. Subsequently he also created the first Motorsport Advanced Apprenticeship, giving young drivers the chance to study part time towards a recognised qualification. Torque duties include The Final Word, product reviews and updating the website with fresh news.
Co Editor - Chris Dymond
Chris was another racer that started at the tender age of 8 years old. Having progressed through the ranks of karting rapidly, ultimately ending as a works driver competing in the ICA European championships, Chris moved to car racing in 2006 and the BRSCC Fiat Challenge championship. Taking the Rookie championship by storm and finishing 3rd in the overall championship, the next rung of tin tops was calling. Entering the ultra competitive UK Clio Cup championship in 2007 was a big step up, but podium finishes at Rockingham, Donington and Snetterton proved he was up to the challenge!
Since Clio’s, Chris continued to climb the racing ladder testing for WTCC and BTCC teams, before ultimately chasing is dream of endurance racing and is currently racing in FIA GT3 where he has competed for marks such as Ascari, Jaguar and BMW Alpina as a factory driver.
Contributing Writer - Ben Constanduros
Ben Constanduros is very much from a motor racing background, his father the Offical FIA commentator in F1 while mother was responsible for ICI and Camels’ sponsorship of F1.
Ben raced in Karts for 8 years but without much success so moved into TV, presenting on MotorsTV, then SKY and ESPN. This has provided many opportunities to both test and race a huge variety of cars, from Sporting Trails to the Bowler Nemisis Daker challenger. He has raced Ginettas and FFords in various one-off races while expanding his portfolio in the TV world. He is presently responsible for the highlights of the F3 Euroseries, WTCC and BTCC support races. He produces the Kartmasters coverage and can be heard commentating on F3ES, WTCC as well as sporadic outing with Superleague, GT1 and previously A1GP.
Contributing Writer - Michael Groves
Michael started racing in 1998 at 8 years old, progressing through the ranks into Gearbox at the age of 16. In 2007, he made the full transition to Superkart racing, finishing as runner-up in the 2007 125 ICC Long Circuit Championship, a feat he repeated in 2008, unlucky both times not to win the championship. A semi-works Arrow Kart driver from 2004-2008, he has also raced the ill-fated Rotax DD2 in Super 1.
Michael moved to 250 National at Long Circuit in 2009, finishing 9th at Oulton Park, before a lack of funding led him to retire from racing in May 2009. He is now focusing on a career in Motorsport Journalism, contributing Superkart race reports and other karting related articles for Torque.
